Rahim Kaba delivers first Aquablation therapy procedure as day case
Mr Rahim Kaba recently achieved an important milestone in urological innovation at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital.
The successful delivery of the first Aquablation therapy procedure in the West Midlands as a day-case pathway represents a significant advancement in minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic enlargement (BPH).
“I recently performed a day-case Aquablation therapy procedure locally, marking what is believed to be the first time this technology has been delivered as a true day-case pathway in Warwickshire,” Mr Kaba commented.
Aquablation combines real-time imaging with robotic precision to provide consistent and reproducible treatment for benign prostatic enlargement. Transitioning this procedure to a day-case model represents an important development – reducing hospital stay while maintaining clinical outcomes and safety.
“This milestone reflects the ongoing shift towards delivering high-quality urological care in a more efficient and patient-centred way. Acknowledgement is due to colleagues who have contributed to the broader development and adoption of Aquablation, including Neil Barber and Jeremy Nettleton.
“Further work will focus on refining patient selection and optimising peri-operative pathways as this service continues to develop,” explains Mr Kaba.
